Verify that New Resources Display in the Practice Updating Triggers Steps to Update TriggersAdd Resources to Lines

Review your Triggers to determine if updates are required based on newly added lines and Resources. You may need to refine your existing filtering criteria or develop new Triggers to maintain accuracy.


In general, you should:

  • Confirm that your Resources display in the appropriate Artera Practice.
  • Update your Triggers to include new Resources, as needed. 
  • Add the new Resources to the correct line. 

Verify that New Resources Display in the Practice

Confirm that the new Resources (Providers, Locations, Devices, and General) appear in the correct Artera Practice. 
NOTE: If there have not been appointments booked with the new Resource(s), such as the new Location, the Resource will not display in Artera.

  1. In your Artera Production environment, select the Practice containing the new Resource(s). 
  2. Navigate to Settings > Practice Settings > Resources.
  3. Review the Resources (Providers, Locations, Devices, General) to ensure they are correct and make any changes to them, as necessary. Click here to learn more.

Updating Triggers

It is important to review your existing Triggers to determine if updates are required based on newly added lines or Resources. This may include refining current Trigger filters or building new Triggers for the new Resources.

  • If your Triggers do not use Resource Filters, then no action is needed to maintain your existing configuration. 

  • If you are creating new Triggers, enable them at the right time to avoid patients receiving duplicate reminders from any legacy reminder system.

Steps to Update Triggers

  1. Navigate to Automations > Triggers.


  2. Locate the Trigger you want to update. Then, select its (...) Actions menu and choose Edit.
  3. Select Continue until you reach step three of the Trigger, Filters. Here, include or exclude the new Resource(s) from the Trigger. 
  4. Select Continue until you reach step six of the Trigger to review your changes. Once reviewed, select Save. Once saved, the Trigger will pause. 
  5. To restart the Trigger, locate it once again from the table, select its (...) Actions menu, and choose Turn On. 


Add Resources to Line(s)

Verify that each line is assocaited with at least one Resource. Once a Resource is added to a text-enabled line, messaging will automatically activate based on your Trigger configuration. 

  1. Navigate to Settings > Practice Settings > Lines.

  2. Use the (...) menu to select Edit Line. 

  3. In the Associated Resources section, select the Resource(s) that will send messages from this line. 
    NOTE: Most customers associate Location Resources with lines.
