Standards-Based GuidanceOngoing WorkPlatform Colors Object Roles and Attributes Content Hover/Keyboard FocusAt Artera, we believe that everyone deserves access to high-quality healthcare communication tools. We are committed to proving that our platform is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities.
Accessibility is not a destination, it is an ongoing journey. We are always working to improve the accessibility of our platform through iterative design enhancements, regular testing, and incorporation of user feedback. This commitment is woven into our product development process and will continue indefinitely as we strive to serve all users better.
Standards-Based Guidance
Artera uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 as our guiding framework for accessibility improvements. WCAG 2.0 provides a comprehensive set of recommendations for making web content more accessible. While WCAG 2.0 serves as our current framework, we monitor and incorporate advancements from newer standards to stay ahead of evolving user needs.
Ongoing Work
Our accessibility efforts include:
• Ongoing design improvements to enhance usability for all users.
• Keyboard navigation support throughout the platform.
• Screen reader compatibility and semantic markup.
• Sufficient color contrast and alternative text for images.
• Clear navigation and consistent user interface elements.
• Training our team on accessibility best practices.
This work is iterative and continuous. As we continue to enhance accessibility, you may notice periodic updates to how certain features look or function (such as optimized text configurations or adjusted color palettes). These changes are part of our commitment to making Artera work better for all users and supporting a consistent, compliant experience for our diverse customer base.
We value your experience and understand that change can sometimes be challenging. Our goal is always to balance accessibility improvements with maintaining a consistent, intuitive experience for all users.
Platform Colors
Artera's color palette allows users with visual impairments to easily differentiate between elements. Artera aims to have a minimum 3:1 contrast ratio against the adjacent colors.

Object Roles and Attributes
To ensure that screen readers and other assistive technology can reliability interpret and describe Artera, the platform aligns with Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) Standards.

This includes adding roles, states, and properties to elements throughout Artera, and implementing keyboard support.
Content Hover/Keyboard Focus
To ensure users can freely navigate Artera with a keyboard or mouse, we have ensured the following items are true for all content that becomes available with hover/focus.
Content is dismissible: If the content obscures or replaces other content, it can be dismissed using the keyboard without moving the mouse hover or keyboard focus (e.g. by pressing the Escape key).
Content is "hoverable": If the content is triggered by a mouse hover, the user can move the mouse pointer to the content without the content disappearing.
Content is persistent: The content stays visible until the mouse hover or keyboard focus is moved, it is dismissed by the user, or the information is no longer valid.
