When an appointment is scheduled with a new Event in your EMR, that Event will automatically sync to Artera. Remember, Events represent appointment types and are unique to each Practice. Click here to learn about Events.
When a new Event is added, it can be important to review any Triggers that use Event filters to ensure the new Event is included or excluded correctly.
Update Triggers to Include New Event
If your Triggers use Event filters, update them to include or exclude your new Events as needed. If you don't use Event-based filtering, no changes are required.
Navigate to Automations > Triggers.

Select the Trigger's (...) Actions menu and choose Edit.

Navigate to step 3 of the Trigger, Filters, and add the new Event(s).

Select Continue to reach the final review page of the Trigger. When ready, select Save.

Making changes to a Trigger will automatically turn the Trigger off. To turn it back on, select the Trigger's (...) Actions menu and choose Turn On.

Repeat these steps for each Trigger, as necessary.
Prevent Triggers for the Event
Disable the Event to prevent Triggers for that Event from being sent.
NOTE: Disabling an Event does not remove it from your Triggers. The Event stays saved in any Trigger filter that uses it, and it is suppressed at send time. In the Trigger editor, disabled selections appear greyed with a ⚠️ indicator so you can see and manage them.
Common reasons to disable an Event include:
Messaging related to the Event should not be sent.
The Event is an internal-only scheduling item.
Disable Event
-
Navigate to Settings > Practice Settings > Events.
-
Use the Event's (...) Actions menu to select Disable Event.
-
The Event's status changes from "Enabled" to "Disabled" and a success message appears indicating that the Event was disabled.
