Process OverviewUpdate Triggers to Include New ProviderPrevent Triggers for the New ProviderAdd Provider to LinesNew Providers automatically sync from your EMR to Artera as soon as their first patient appointment is scheduled with a Location that has been mapped to an Artera Practice. The provider will be included in the Daily Change Log report, available to Analytics Plus customers.
NOTE: If you have recently opened a new Location that has not yet been set up in Artera, Providers within that Location will not automatically flow into Artera. You will need to complete the "Add a Location" process in order to properly map the location and related providers to Artera. Click here for instructions.
Process Overview
When there is a new Provider added to Artera, it can be important to complete the following steps depending on your workflows:
- Update Triggers that use Provider filters
- Add Provider to lines (fairly uncommon)
Update Triggers to Include New Provider
If your Triggers use Provider filters, update them to include or exclude your new Providers as needed. If you don't use Provider-based filtering, no changes are required.
Navigate to Automations > Triggers.

Select the Trigger's (...) Actions menu and choose Edit.

Navigate to step 3 of the Trigger, Filters, and add the new Provider(s).

Select Continue to reach the final review page of the Trigger. When ready, select Save.

Making changes to a Trigger will automatically turn the Trigger off. To turn it back on, select the Trigger's (...) Actions menu and choose Turn On.

-
Repeat these steps for each Trigger, as necessary.
Prevent Triggers for the New Provider
Prevent Triggers for the Provider
Disable the Provider to prevent Triggers for that Provider's appointments from being sent. Common reasons to disable a Provider include:
They are no longer with the Practice;
They are on temporary leave;
You do not want messaging for the Provider’s appointments to go out.
Disable Provider
Navigate to Settings > Practice Settings > Resources. Make sure you are navigated to the correct Practice.
From the Provider tab, use the Provider's (...) Actions menu to select Disable Resource.

The Provider's status changes from "Enabled" to "Disabled" and a success message appears indicating that the Provider was disabled.

Add Provider to Line
While most lines are set up by Location, if your organization assigns lines based on Provider, you will need to add the Provider to the correct line.
- Navigate to Settings > Practice Settings > Lines.
-
Use the (...) menu for the line and select Edit Line.
-
From the Associated Resources section, add the new Provider. Then, select Save Line.
